Who May Register
All new and returning boys and girls born between August 1, 1989 and July 31, 2004. Players must play in the division assigned by their birth date. Click here for the 2008-09 season division chart.
Players born on August 1, 2004 or later will not be eligible to play in the Fall 2008 season. There are absolutely no exceptions to this policy. These players will be eligible in the Fall 2009 season.
Players are divided into different playing divisions based upon their birth dates. Girls and boys, at all ages, will play with/against players of the same gender. All Division U16 & U19 teams will play against teams from other Regions in our area on both Saturdays and Sundays. All non-competitive divisions (U5-U8) will play in single age divisions.
Residential areas covered by Region 630
Rancho Santa Margarita, Trabuco Canyon, Coto de Caza, Dove Canyon, Trabuco Highlands, Rancho Cielo, Wagon Wheel Canyon, and Las Flores. We suggest players register in the region where they reside, however, there are no restrictions.
Proof of Birth date
A copy of the player's birth certificate is required for all players registering after April 26, 2008. Players that do not have their birth certificate will not be registered. Please plan ahead to have proper copies of the birth certificate in time for registration. Hospital birth records, baptism/christening certificates, and vaccination or school records are not acceptable in place of the birth certificate.
Player Evaluation
Player evaluation dates will be published at a later time. Please monitor our website for the dates. If your child needs to be evaluated and he/she does not attend the evaluation session to be rated, your child will not be registered!
Parent Volunteers
Your local AYSO Region is comprised entirely of volunteers. Over a thousand volunteers are required to provide a successful soccer season. Thus, we encourage each parent to consider helping in some part of our program. Prior experience is not required and we will provide the necessary training, equipment and uniforms. Volunteer positions include team coach and assistant coach, referee, assistant referee and youth referee, board member, registration day volunteer, and fields setup. Since team parents are assigned after the team is built we do not usually register team parent volunteers ahead of time. Our region does not utilize photo day volunteers. Please be ready to specify what volunteer position you will apply for once you arrive at registration day.
All volunteers must mail in a copy of their photo identification (SSN card and Driver's License or similar identification) so that you can be enrolled in the Safe Haven Program.
Volunteer Forms
SSN card and DL of parent volunteering (If spouse is registering the other spouse, cards must be present.) We cannot just accept the numbers, copies of the actual cards must be mailed in for verification.
Name of company where volunteer works (if applicable)
Name and phone number of at least 3 references
Team Placement
Players registered by the April 26th deadline are guaranteed a spot on a team. Players registered after April 26th are placed on a space available basis. All teams are formed by an automated process. Teams in brackets U9 through U19 are balanced based upon each player's skill level and experience. Due to the need to create balanced teams, siblings in U9 and higher may not be able to be placed on the same team. Players who end up registered but for some reason have not been evaluated may not be placed on a team. Please ensure your player is rated if needed to avoid disappointment later.
Requests to be placed with friends or neighbors cannot be accommodated. Requests to move from one team to another due to practice conflicts cannot be accommodated.
Scholarship Information
Fall registration fee scholarships are available for families needing financial assistance. Application forms will be available during registration. Please contact our registrar (registrarupper@ayso630.org) for information.
Post Registration
Post registration is on May 13, 2008 at Ballpark Pizza, RSM 6:00PM to 9:00PM.
After this date you may still register by mailing your registration documents to:
AYSO Region 630
Attn: Registrar
31441 Santa Margarita Parkway, Suite A-280
Rancho Santa Margarita, CA 92688
A copy of the player's birth certificate is required for all post registration. Players will be accepted on a space available basis only and are not guaranteed to be placed on a team. The final day for post registration is July 31, 2008. A full refund will be given for any player registered during post registration, that is not placed on a team by the region. If there is a spot available, but the player declines, the refund is not available.
Refund Policy
If you decide you will not be playing soccer this coming Fall season, please submit your Refund Request as soon as possible. Refund Requests may be submitted anytime after the first registration event on April 5th. Most people know early on that they are moving, playing in another league, etc. yet wait until August to submit their refund request. The impact to team balancing is a major issue when over 150 players or so drop during the month of August, after teams have been formed and balanced. If you have ever been on an unbalanced team, this is most likely the reason. So please remember, send in your refund request as soon as you know you will not be playing.
All refund requests must be made in writing on the Refund Request Form (available on the Forms Library page) and mailed to:
A.Y.S.O. Region 630
Attention: Treasurer
31441 Santa Margarita Parkway, Suite A-280
Rancho Santa Margarita, CA 92688
Requests MUST be postmarked no later than July 31, 2008. Notices made to the coach or any other person will not be accepted. Faxes and e-mail will not be accepted. Refund checks will be issued after September 30th, 2008.
